dreaming...
if I had 24 hours in the Balearics...does this mean I have 24 hours kid free? Awesome, then I'm getting in the water asap! My priority with any vacation is if there's good swimming & snorkeling. I love to see all the various life that's underwater. I'm an average swimmer, but snorkeling seems to allow me to cruise along with no problem. I've outfitted my little point & shoot digital camera with a waterproof case & it's so much fun to get some awesome shots of the various things around there. So that's where I'd go first.
After that I'm always exhausted, because who ISNT tired after a day of swimming? So next priority would be to get a bite to eat & then sit on the shore watching the sunset with a drink in hand. Food & water and I'm happy!
But as a special treat, when I get tired of the water, there's always an aquarium!

Always a bridesmaid...
I'm involved in two weddings this summer & as the jeweler in the group, I 'get' to make all the wedding jewelry. Here's a selection I did for one group to pick from: |

Disappearing Fountain
A big part of our landscaping renovations has been the addition of water to our yard. I love the sound of running water & it also brings in SO Many birds. We did our Water garden last month & this weekend, added this little bubbling fountain- |

It works by burying a 5 gallon bucket at ground level. I then piled the extra dirt around it to create a little valley. Over that goes a rubber liner, with a hole cut in for the bucket's opening (just a bit smaller). in the bucket went a pump & some bricks to hold the rock. Over the top of the bucket went a piece of metal screen. The decorative fountain rock went on top of that (with the pump's tube piped through). pour in some water, add the rocks to hide the liner & voila! |
FINALLY, a blog!
I've been meaning to put one of these up & finally got around to doing the legwork for it...It'll be a nice mix of my jewelry & art world + a few bits about our house renovation business. Just fun stuff. For now, here's some shots of my recent work- |
